Instructor:     Steven Zhu

Steven's 20+ years of professional experience spans across a diverse range of industries and roles. He spent six years in the global bank HSBC in Asia and eight years in the tech giant Google in the silicon valley. He oversaw Google Play's data science and analytics division to drive business growth and insights. In addition to corporate experience, Steven owned and operated a sports marketing agency with high-profile clients such as Pepsi, MasterCard, and Samsung. He also worked in two pre-IPO startup companies and was heavily exposed to the fast-paced and ever-changing world of startups. As the head of growth analytics at Coupang, he played an integral role in the company's IPO in 2021. 


Steven holds a CS Bachelor's degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He currently serves as the President of Saratoga High School Foundation. 

Instructor:   Chen Peng

Chen is a seasoned data scientist with a track record of delivering impactful business solutions using data technology. She currently works as a Staff Data Scientist at Coupang, South Korea's largest e-Commerce company, where she is responsible for analyzing and modeling customer data to drive business growth and improve customer experience. Prior to Coupang, Chen worked as a data scientist in Urban Outfitters Anthropologie Group, where she gained expertise in using data to optimize customer segmentation, product recommendations, and marketing strategies. Chen owns two US patents on machine learning methods in product recommendation.

Chen holds a Master's degree in Statistics from University of Pennsylvania. Previously she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, and Mathematics from Penn State University. 

Program Manager/TA: Andy Zhu

Andy is a current student at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. Earlier, he graduated from the BBAY program winning the 1st prize. Andy has demonstrated exceptional academic aptitude and is known for his remarkable work ethic. He is now bringing his idea to life attempting to create a successful and necessary product. 

Andy is the program manager of the BELT program. He has also been a Teaching Assistant, assisting and mentoring younger students in their academic pursuits. His peers and instructors alike admire his ability to inspire and motivate others to strive for success.
